It Is the Nature of Love to Grow

These words were once said to me and I didn’t understand them at the time.  When love is true and kind it simply grows.

Love is patient, love is kind! 1 Corinthians 13:4

Hearing the wind swoosh through the trees, I close my eyes and hear a choir.  Birds as sopranos on the top branches, then when the trees sway to a gust of wind, you can hear the base keeping the beet of nature’s music. Peace, beauty, stillness and calmness surround my very being as I sit and wonder how this Garden of Eden could embrace me the way it is.  If the nature of love is to grow – surely nature is love.  It manifests itself with colors that even Monet could not be able to recreate.  The dirt under the fingernails of the person that tirelessly takes care of everything around her, carefully she gardens and when the grass is too high – she mows the high grass but carefully circles around a beautiful flower that some may call a weed.

When did I stop looking at the flowers that are now by most of us, called a weed – When did I stop paying attention.  A few weeks ago, while walking next to David I noticed that his hands were reaching out to every weed along the road.  From his wheelchair he paid attention to the yellow beauty he was seeing.  Reaching out his hand stroking the tops of these yellow flowers.  Then he picked one and as I pushed him up the hill in his wheel chair – he showed me that I had not noticed this creation of God.

He held it up and looked at it and gave it to me.  The innocents of seeing something beautiful that otherwise would have gone unnoticed and even trampled brought tears to my eyes and soul.  This little yellow flower was given to me as a gift.

In the morning I hear singing to the left of me – the side that the sun comes up.  In the evening, I hear the same choir to my right. The sun goes down.  This nature choir knows when to rise and when to settle moving in perfect time with nature.

Below me down the hill there is a lake and when the wind catches the top of the water it causes this smooth balance of movement up and down and around.  The trees above reflect in the water and at times the fish are jumping.  Sitting on the dock, legs in the water, wind slowly coming and going I can hear the whispers of the Holy Spirit speaking to my soul:

Beloved – you are My messenger making a way through the dry lands.  You have endured much and there have been such fierce circumstances in your life that could have broken you completely.  You are tired.  The storms came, and I could see each one and I would weep with you and hold you when you didn’t know how to get through the night.

My child – it is now your time to shine and the unknown shall be known by all.  You are made strong in My strength.  I am bringing you forth and there are blue skies above you and the well in which you drink will nourish every part of you.  Glory will come not for anything you have done but for the things you have not done when you had the choice. Adversaries have been hard, and you had no-one to share with in this world, but you came to me. Not defending what was done to you by those around you – the hurting words, the accusations, the silence from those that condemned you, the emptying of your soul without wanting in return. Times like this you knew it was I that held you up.  You looked to me because in this world there is so much judgment, jealousy, pride, envy and speculation that it can break your soul.  You sought Me instead. You came to Me when you thought you could not take one more step.  You put love first.

My daughter - come now and rest.  Drink from my well and you will again be filled. Come and spend time with me in My garden.  Enjoy the splendor in each leaf blowing in the wind, each bird that sings you a morning song, each living thing that I created for you. Walk out in the rain and let it wash your clean. Rest and know that you are My Beloved.

Song of Songs 5:1 I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride I gathered my myrrh with my spice.  I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk.  Eat, friends and drink, drink your fill of love.

Psalm 36:9 For with you is the fountain of life, in your light we see light.

John 7:37-38 On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.  Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

I am finding new strength to continue to be by the side of the one I love.  I look to Jesus for strength when all is being poured out.  I look to Jesus when I hear and see those that do not know better.  I find strength in Jesus because I know that I will be nourished by Him that knows and sees all and is the Living Water.

The Nature of Love is to Grow – Love is the nourishment to all things – Nature is Love!
